Private Suzuki Violin Lessons

Students receive a weekly private lesson and a group lesson once a month.  Lessons are available to children ages 3-18. Students study classical music with an emphasis on quality and technique. Supplements include theory books, holiday music, popular music and fiddle music.

The parent and the teacher work together to produce the best possible learning experience for the child. Parents attend lessons, learn the basics of the instrument and are considered the "at home teacher." Parents learn techniques to help their children practice productively.

Violin students have many opportunities to perform.  Locally, students perform at the Washington Farmers Market during the summer months, The Homestead at Hickory View, as well as Winter and Spring Recitals.

Other performance opportunities include playing at Busch Stadium for the Cardinals, National Federation of Music Clubs Festival in St. Louis and workshops held in St. Louis and Illinois.

Private Guitar Lessons

Guitar Lessons available to children and adults daytime hours only.  Study Classical Guitar, Jazz Guitar or Finger Picking with Instructor Steve Leslie.

Brass Lessons

Study Trumpet and all other Brass Instruments with Instructor Chris Smith

Private Piano Lessons

Half hour lessons are available to children ages 5 through adult. Suzuki Method and Traditional methods are combined for well rounded instruction.  Students will have opportunities to participate in several piano events in conjunction with East Central College.  Past Events have included the Sonatina Festival, a piano "play-in" with strings, and a "Monster" concert featuring duets.  Piano students from the Washington Academy of Music will also participate in a formal Fall Recital.

Private Voice Lessons

Lessons available to children and adults.  Students develop singing voices through the study of dictation, breathing, music theory, and more.  Scales, Classical Repitore, Broadway and supplemental music are used in the lessson.  Students recieve auditon preparation as well as performance oppertunties in annual recitals.
